Save hours of data entry time by uploading your bank and credit card transactions into QuickBooks!

QuickBooks users love being able to download their bank transactions digitally into QuickBooks Online via Banking or QuickBooks Desktop via Bank Feeds.  This bank-to-QuickBooks connectivity sometimes can be done via Direct Connect (by putting your bank credentials in QuickBooks and letting it connect) or by manually downloading a .QBO Web Connect file and uploading it into QuickBooks*. However, sometimes there are challenges to this process such as:

  • Bank is limited to only exporting transactions in CSV, QIF, or PDF format
  • Bank has a limited amount of transactions (or limited date range) that can be exported into QuickBooks
  • QuickBooks Online in particular can only download 90 days worth of transactions directly from the bank
  • You have no access to logging into the Bank's Online Banking
  • The Bank account is closed, and the only information available is in paper or PDF format
  • The information that comes from the bank directly is inaccurate or incomplete

This is where MoneyThumb's 2QuickBooks tools come to rescue, depending on the digital file types you have access to, you would need any of these tools:

  • csv2qbo: $59 - Allows you to convert Excel or CSV files of bank or credit card transactions into .QBO format to upload into QuickBooks Bank Feeds
  • qif2qbo: $59 - Allows you to convert compatible files from your bank into .QBO format to upload into QuickBooks Bank Feeds
  • 2qbo Converter Pro: $549 - Allows you to all file formats described above (QIF, CSV, XLS, PDF) of bank or credit card transactions into .QBO format to upload into QuickBooks Bank Feeds

*All these tools export the files in .QBO format (sometimes called "Web Connect" or "OFX" format) and can be uploaded into any version of QuickBooks Desktop (Pro, Premier, Accountant, or Enterprise) or QuickBooks Online

Now, if you do not have a digital file, and only have a scanned paper statement, you are going to need the special "+ PLUS" edition of the tools that have Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to be able to convert a non-digital or scanned bank statement:

  • 2qbo Converter Pro+: $599 - Allows you to all file formats  (QIF, CSV, XLS, Digital PDF, or scanned paper statements) of bank or credit card transactions into .QBO format to upload into QuickBooks Bank Feeds

NOTE: the PLUS editions have an annual fee required to be able to use the scanned paper statements / OCR feature after the first year, this fee pays for the constant updates and tweaks we must add to the coding to accept more and more banks as they change the format of their statements
