As the owner of a small accounting firm, you may think that your current and prospective clients won't be interested in a marketing effort from you during the Christmas season. However, the truth is that you can join in the Christmas marketing extravaganza by creating unique ways to present your accounting services. People spend more money over the holidays, and most have a generous and open spirit. The following list of marketing suggestions will mostly likely be welcome by your clients and prospective clients over the following weeks:
Marketing Your Accounting Services During the Christmas Holiday
- Offer your accounting services as a gift idea--By thinking outside the box, you can suggest to your clients that they give the gift of your services to someone they know needs bookkeeping and/or accounting help. What a welcome gift this would be for a struggling small business owner!
- Create a Christmas-only discount on your services--Consumers love getting discounts, especially during the holidays. Create an accounting services package and promote it for Christmas only, with all the glitter, bells and whistles that Christmas affords.
- Make your social media accounts festive--Speaking of Christmas bells and whistles, have fun and make more money by creating a festive theme on your social media pages and open the conversation to Christmas-themed games and stories.
- Create a 12 Days of Christmas campaign--You can take advantage of the Christmas holidays by creating some sort of 12 Days of Christmas campaign, either on your social media page or your website. Make each day special with a one-time offer, or just have fun and talk about Christmas each day. Use your imagination.
- Be prepared with extra customer service and support--Hopefully, the above ideas will create much-welcome extra work. If needed, get additional help to deal with orders, deliveries, customer questions, and support issues.
- Reach out to your market--Let the world know about your holiday promotions. Find ways to get in front of your target market, such as through guest blogging, podcast interviews, and press releases. Don't forget to let your email list and social media followers know about your sales. You might even want to do a video talking about your great holiday offers.
- Send Christmas greetings and thanks to your current clients--In a perfect world you have a nice email list of current and former clients. Send them a Christmas greeting and thank them for their business, and add a special offer in the newsletter. Make it festive and fun!
If you take the reigns right now and begin your Christmas marketing campaign using the tips above, you will hopefully make this holiday a busy, fun, and profitable one.
And don't forget... with the new tax season coming you have an upcoming opportunity to help clients get their historical .pdf bank statements into QuickBooks via MoneyThumb's 2qbo Convert Pro+. Being prepared to serve your clients at tax season is maybe the best gift of all that you can give them!
